On the 9th August 2009 at 8:22pm, if you hear warning system in any part of Singapore, please do not be alarm.

SCDF chime will sound over National Public Warning System to invite Singaporeans to recite the Pledge together.

This is the first time that the organization arrange such the way that everyone will recite the Singapore Pledge together wherever we are.

So, when you hear the warning system, please stop whatever you are doing and let's us recite the Singapore Pledge together.

8月9日，晚上8点22分，当你听到警报声，请不要慌张。

新加坡民防部会拉起警报声，邀请你来阅读新加坡誓愿。这次是第一次有关当局举办国人一起读新加坡誓愿为新加坡度过44生日。

不管你在哪个地方，当你听到警报声，请大家一起读新加坡誓愿吧！

We the citizens of Singapore
Pledge ourselves as one united people
regardless of race, language or religion
to build a democratic society
based on justice and equality
so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and
progress for our nation.

Chinese Translation

我们是新加坡公民，
誓愿不分种族、言语、宗教，
团结一致，
建设公正平等
的民主社会，
并为实现国家之幸福、繁荣与进步，
共同努力。

Tamil Translation

சிங்கப்பூர் குடிமக்களாகிய நாம் இனம்,மொழி,மதம்
ஆகிய வேற்றுமைகளை மறந்து ஒன்றுபட்டு,நம் நாடு
மகிழ்ச்சி,வளம்,முன்னேற்றம் ஆகியவற்றை அடையும்
வண்ணம் சமத்துவத்தையும்,நீதியையும்
